Is it normal for nose piercing to sink in

I just got my nose pierced on Saturday February It's red and swollen and the stud is sinking into my nose. I want to remove it, but what should I do?

I went to an India shop where everyone there has a piercing. Please someone tell what to do. Hi the exact same thing happened to me, I was cleaning it properly twice a day with warm water and sea salt. One morning I pushed it up with the q-tip to clean the top and I gently pushed it back into the normal position and the stud sunk into my nose, I eventually managed to get it back out.

That day I went to the piercing studio where I got it done. This is normal, if there is swelling your piercer should changed the bar and stud to a longer and bigger one. He looked at mine and there was no swelling so he changed it to a bigger stud. This is normal but please stop touching your piercing. Your just making it worse by touching it and moving it. Just keep cleaning it like you usually do and after a few days the swelling will go down.

If going from a smaller gauge nose stud, nose screw or nose ring to a larger gauge, you can stretch your piercing by putting some pure vitamin e oil on your nose jewelry and your nose piercing and slowly guiding the stud through. You can make your piercing holes bigger by using stretchers.

You can get them at just about any piercing shop or shop that sells bigger gauge jewelry. Also, if you decide to go large gauge, your ears may not go back to how they are now. A taper is a cone or spike shaped piece of jewelry that is used to stretch a piercing up a size. The shape of the taper allows the piercing to stretch smoothly as the taper is pushed through the ear. It may even fix itself.

If you notice that your nose piercing has started to sink into your skin you should contact your piercer. They will be able to advise what you can do to fix this. After your piercing is completed your nose will swell slightly. This is normal and is part of the healing process. There are other reasons why this may happen, most of which can be easily rectified. It can be a shocking sight when you look in the mirror following a nose piercing and your piercing looks to be sinking into your nose.

It could also be that the piercer used a stud with a shorter post than needed and a smaller head. This should have a larger head and a longer post to be able to stay in place when your nose swells. The easy way to fix these issues would be to use a ring instead of a stud.
